FNB & Forex Department

Hi,

The FNB Forex department consists of a handful of individuals, programmed like robots to inform you that your payment will be process in 48 hours, every 48 hours* A single forex payment takes an entire week to process, and you are required to spend the week on the phone enquiring about the status of your payment.

I've had a payment cancelled twice internally, and without my consent, because the team does know know what a randoff payment is. Furthermore they attempt to frustrate you into recapturing the payment for you in order to exchange the money at a higher rate. FNB believes it is able to manipulate interpretation of SARB rules.

I was charged 30% extra on forex capped charges and visited my branch (the Village, Horizon View) where staff could not show me and rules in the forum of a brochure/internet/document justifying the additional charges. When I called the forex department about their extra fees I was merely asked to email forex complaints and had no acknowledgement of receipt. Horizon View branch manager Gloria Sibanda laughingly asked me if I do not know how to send an email.

I then lodged a complaint online and have not received a response in more than 6 weeks I find FNB service deplorable and there is nothing laughable about the fact that everyone using Forex apparently shares the same sentiments
