FNB FOREX All Charges Not Disclosed

If you're looking for a FOREX service, specifically for international transfers, do not use FNB Forex. They claim charges for international outward transfers consist of a .54% commission (min R135 max R680) and a R105 SWIFT fee. This is not the full amount charged, Additional charges are levied even before reaching the international accounts (before they add their own charges). I followed up with the international banks (who responded within less than an hour), which categorically stated that FNB never discloses the amount being transferred, creating an opportunity for some spurious additional charges on the FNB side. I've tried to follow up on the FNB side: they never respond to emails, my private banker ignores the queries and the FNB FOREX call centre refuses to provide any detailed information, insisting on referring you to the fee schedules, online. This can be interpreted in two ways: FNB is not transparent regarding their charges and/or their people do not understand their systems and just prefer to ignore you. Probably it's both. DO NOT use FNB for forex services, they are utterly disinterested in providing a decent and transparent service.
