FNB fobs off their responsibility and does not respect privacy?

Where to Begin? As I will need to be brief, I have had three Personal accounts with FNB for over three years now, and I am a signatory on a local business networking chapter account which is not linked to my personal profile at FNB. On Saturday the 23rd July 2016 I read an email from the secretary treasurer of this Business chapter account asking for clarification on a cash withdrawal dated 4th July 2016 from that account, a cash withdrawal I did not make!

I went to the Branch in question to query this transaction, and asked How it was possible for FNB to withdraw funds from an account erroneously when the withdraw slip I filled out on the day in question specifically refers to an unrelated/unlinked personal business account or mine. What was explained was that It would be “impossible” to with draw funds without a “mechanism”, that being proof of ID and a bank card or check book for the account in question, failing that there must be two separate managers approvals, yet somehow with no bank card or check book for this Business network account or managers authorisation a teller was able to access a diferent account to the one requested and withdraw funds!, now we discover there has been a procedural/operational Error? And to resolve this FNB wishes me to contact the representatives of this Business network account to rectify the erroneous withdrawal myself. I am not disputing that money needs to be transferred; I am however angry about the manner FNB is going about rectifying THEIR MISTAKE! I feel this is blatant passing the buck and an attempt to remove/absolve? FNB from any liability? or responsibility? for this problem they caused in the first place.

So now as there is insufficient funds in my account to rectify the erroneous debit, The business networking chapter account is short money and I must now “Air my dirty laundry” and divulge my personnel financial status to people I work with and have business relationships with and make arrangement personally with this third party in order to absolve FNB of responsibility. Where is my right to privacy? If FNB made a withdrawal from the wrong account why are they not putting the money back themselves? They took it out NOT ME! Why do I have to make this payment directly to this third party? When I should be making the payment to FNB? I would really appreciate a call or response from a representative of FNB to discuss and resolve this matter privately and avoid “dragging the entire countryside into my personal affairs”

Regards

Roger Smith

********** 563
**********
