FNB failing to Verify Details

FNB doesn't really care about their "Customers" they quick to refer you to LEGAL and get 100 people to call you when you miss a payment or default on something however when they mess up your things, they expect an apology to be enough.

I had a credit card with FNB which I paid up on the 25/04/2015 however this account hasn't been closed. I have been following up with FNB however haven't been receiving much joy. different consultants would tell me different things yet they work for the same company which is rather frustrating.

after constant follow ups I received email from a consultant advising me that they cannot close my account as I am owing R61368.19 and I quote "we look forward to receiving the final payment in order for us to close your account".

astonished and taken aback by this because according to my knowledge I paid up this account and I have the proof of payment. I then receive another call from a private banker advising me the same thing that the previous consultant advised me. I question the lady as to how this is possible because I paid up this account and haven't been using it ever since. she responds by telling me that its a private clients credit card and its reflecting on my profile. she advised me to log onto my app/online banking to view this. I kept on telling her that nothing is reflecting on my side but she insists its there because she can see it on her side. I requested her to double check, she then tells me that its not actually my credit card she notices that I have signing powers on some MR NAGAN ****A's credit card.

I advised her that I don't know this person and I cannot understand how this happened because I have no clue who this person is. she advised me that it reflects on my profile and that's why they cannot close my account. after disputing this numerous times she advised that she would have to investigate this and get back to me.

a day later I receive an email from her informing me that they have delinked the credit card from my profile as I've mentioned that I don't know this person but they cannot TRACE how this transpired.

I feel that this is very disgusting, pathetic services for a BANK like FNB. I have been banking with them for years and I feel like I can no longer trust them with my finances. I mean how do you link someone else's credit card to another persons profile and then advise that you cannot explain how it happened. yes mistakes do happen, but its not a mistake when you dealing with someone's FINANCES. this has been affecting my credit record and unfortunately it cant be noted as an "ERROR". I am so disappointed with the way my account was handled. does FNB not validate their clients? or make sure that their consultants are following the processes???

FNB has lost the title of being the "BEST" bank.
