FNB Failing their Clients
During 2018 and 2019 I experienced financial difficulty due to a bad business decision. I fell behind on my FNB Bond repayments with FNB. In June 2019 the Company I worked for went through a retrenchment and restructuring process. My salary was cut with almost R45 000. I was offered another opportunity with another Company at almost the same salary as my reduced salary but with much better long term opportunities. I requested the Company to pay my Provident fund out so I can settle debt and make my house Wheelchair friendly because both my mother and father ( 80 & 78 ) are living with us and my mother is in a wheelchair due to a Stroke. On 5 October 2019 I made a payment of R150 000 on my FNB Bond. Installment payments (R19300 )was made every month via debit order. In January the debit order was deducted but FNB only requested R16 300. I Thought it was due to interest rates. On 14 Feb I received a mail from FNB ( Dawn Holbeck) informing me my FNB Bond was R65 000 in arears, apparently the R150 000 payment I made in Oct 2019 didn't settle the outstanding amount. She said FNB,s Attorneys are applying for a judgment. I requested FNB to allow me to make an arrangement to pay the outstanding amount monthly and to change the debit order back to R19300. FNB send me the request documents to complete which I send back after completion. During the last 2 weeks I kept on sending e-mails requesting feedback on my request. Today I send a e-mail again to FNB and received a mail from Delia Majola informing me my request was not granted. I now ask the following: 1. I have made full payments every month 2. I paid R1 480 000 for my house, I paid a deposit and with payments made paid approximately R800 000. Should I loose my family home for R65 000? 3. I am prepared to pay more per month to catch up on the outstanding amount yet FNB refuses. 4. Should I put my parents in a Old Age home or Frail Care centre were they will certainly not live long because a Call centre Operator wont allow me to make and payment arrangement 5.It seems to me that FNB would rather see a family living on the street instead of assisting them although the bond was being paid every month. 6.It also seems that FNB don't want you to recover from your debt, maybe it is because they want to let the property go on auction for obvious reasons 7. I just hope that no Employee of FNB ever gets into a similar situation that he or she needs to prepare to tell heir loved ones that you maybe loosing your home. 8. I suggest FNB removes all their adverts from the media because it is not trustworthy 9. I have instructed my Attorney to take action 10. I suspect that I wont get any response.
