Fnb failing service
On the 16th June 2024,I made a payment to a company for services which I have paid into before. A payment of R7000 was made, unknowingly the business account had a hold. This information I was not privy to and Unfortunately the account owner had not communicated this. The funds have been locked into the account, the account holder advised I call the bank for reversal, of which I did and I was advised on a turnaround time of 7working days. 7 days passed I followed up with FNB and was advised to wait an additional 3days. No updates once again,I had to follow up again, when they told me to wait 21working days for investigation purposes.
This has been going on for now officially 3months where I continuously have to follow up with the bank.
I have been in touch with the account holder recently who then explains that his accounts were closed by the bank and again with no full information I am left in the dark.
My frustration then is,why would FNB allow funds to go into a blocked account, if the bank feels that they’re associated with *****sters who are known in the outside world to be legitimate individuals, why would the bank continue to allow funds be taken and allow the de*****ing of clients to continue.
I fail to understand that if it is true that this individuals company account is closed whilst there’s a pending case for funds to be reversed, how do I then have my funds refunded. I am not asking for the bank to give the details of the case, nor the account holder to explain his troubles, I do however expect that the bank would prevent funds from going into the account as funds cannot go out.
Adding to the failing service provided by FNB,after all the turnaround times I have been given by FNB regarding the refund/reversal there has never been a time where communication has been provided, any advice on how to go about the matter or a resolution.
R7000 is a lot and I feel the service I am receiving does not meet the “how can I help you” FNB prides itself in.
