FNB failed to provide a service and then charged me to rectify their mistake
I wanted a statement for my savings pocket. The statement is set to be generated quarterly. It is generated on the fourth day, every third month. My statement should hve been generated yesterday. By 12pm, it still had not generated so I got in contact with FNB. I was told to call the investment department. After speaking to Nomsa, I was told that the statement would be generated "sometime" that day. First of all, I don't understand why a computer has to worry about what day it is to generate a statement. Surely, this is an automated process. I tell Nomsa that I need that statement. I have been waiting for it for awhile and I need it ASAP. She said that the best she could do for me is provide me with a transaction history. I say that I guess that that is better than nothing. She does not tell me what it will cost because it makes sense that because FNB can't give me my statament on the day THEY said it would be avaialble, that they would provide me with the history free of charge. That seems fair correct? They failed to provide a service and gave me the next best thing because they are at fault. Well, that is a ridiculous assumption to make. I was charged R52 for that transactional history. When I went to complain about that, I started off with Kgothatso who then shifted me to Busisiwe who then shifted me to Tshepang who then cancelled my query. FNB, please enjoy my R52 while I take my business elsewhere.
