FNB failed me after violent crime and ***** , zero urgency, zero communication
I am beyond angry and disgusted by FNB’s handling of my ***** case.
I opened a ***** case on 27 December after I was kidnapped, beaten, and ****** at gunpoint. During this violent assault, I was physically attacked, pistol-whipped, and forced to give access to my bank accounts, where my money was ******.
It has now been over a month, and FNB has provided absolutely no feedback, no updates, no calls, and no communication whatsoever about my ***** case.
To make matters worse, the FNB app completely failed me when I needed it most. I tried to block the app to protect my account, but once the app was closed and reopened, it went straight through Apple ID authentication. This made the block useless and allowed continued access during a life-threatening situation. This is a serious security flaw.
I am dealing with physical injuries, trauma, and PTSD, and FNB’s lack of urgency and communication has added even more stress to an already horrific situation.
I am still waiting to hear: • What is happening with my ***** case • Why there has been no communication since 27 December • Whether my ****** funds are being investigated or recoverable • Why FNB’s security measures failed so badly in an emergency
This level of silence and indifference after a violent crime is unacceptable. I expected far more from a bank entrusted with people’s livelihoods and safety
