FNB – Extremely Disappointing Experience

I have been under debt review and settled all my debt according to the balances provided by FNB. For more than six years, I have been trying to close my cheque account with FNB, yet they continue adding account charges even after the account was settled in full.

Approximately three years ago, I visited an FNB branch in person to resolve this issue. I paid the outstanding amount, and the consultant provided me with a statement confirming that the balance was zero. I requested that the account be closed at that time.

To my disappointment, the account was never closed, and charges have continued to accumulate. This feels like exploitation of clients who no longer wish to be associated with FNB. It is extremely frustrating and concerning that a bank of this size cannot execute a simple request to close an account.

Consumers should think twice before opening an account with FNB. In my experience, their practices have been dishonest, and they certainly do not put the client first.
