FNB: EXPLOITATION
I am being held liable by FNB to pay back an account where fees and charges incurred on a Dormant account. I was unaware the account was converted in the first place and also that it was left open after a conversion in 2020. After I found out about the account left open (which was only last year and which I started disputing)FNB then handed it over to attorneys.
I even personally went into the Bank in my area Horison (Roodepoort) where the branch Manager has since been tried to assist me with this dispute.
Today I get an email again saying that am am liable to still pay it even after I explained that I wasn't aware that the account was left open. Can someone please explain to me how I am still liable to pay this account.
The email says "The client was advised ", please can I have proof of acknowledement that I was aware?
I am beyond frustrated with this issue now. This cannot be ok.
This is exploitation.
Why didn't anyone from the bank call me to enquire as to whether I was aware? So FNB s best practice? How does an account remain open showing no activity except for your fees and charges continue running for 4 years ?
