FNB = equal to loan sharks? Yes
If you do not qualify for credit, do NOT make the mistake to accept the temporary loan you might get 'offered' by FNB at any time. They view it as a 'courtesy' to you, you get all excited because finally things are looking up - until you try to apply for credit- it is actually so funny I am over it, imagine - the rules for credit do not apply, because all that matters to FNB is the interest that they can earn. THEN 'they have no control over the system-generated facility...' okay, this is plain reckless and irresponsible, as they pass the buck. 'No, it's not US, it is the system'.This facility is nothing short of them being loan sharks. My worst decision EVER was moving to FNB. When the lady phoned me to 'get us on the same page' I just started laughing. My advice? Take matters like these to the Ombud. If you don't 'get scored' - reckless lending, which is ********. My humble opinion.
FNB did refund the initiation fee that was charged for the temporary loan, so this makes me wonder even more, and beg even more questions...
They chose to ignore me when I requested confirmation in writing that I do not qualify for ANY form of credit (provided by FNB).
Here is the interesting thing: the temp loan is closed now, I do not qualify for another one, it is NOT a scoring item or facility, so it will not improve my credit score or rating (but heaven forbid I didn't pay it back because that would have influenced my credit score or rating VERY negatively...) The logic here is ABSOLUTELY mindblowing hey?
My advise? Resist taking out that temp loan or temp facility. Especially one offered by FNB, as a so-calles courtesy. They are NOT doing you a favor.
If you survived last year to an extent, still being able to put food on the table and keep the lights on and water running, you will survive WITHOUT a 'helping hand' because FNB should rather change their slogan to 'we would rather not help you' - again, my humble view.
