FNB: Enjoy life? Stay away from us because we won’t let you spend your money the way YOU want to.

Do you like traveling?

Have you ever saved money to spend on a pleasant and soothing family vacation in some far away place?

Do you occasionally pay for international goods and services (for example Netflix, Xbox/Playstation games and subscriptions)?

If ‘yes’, then for the love of god stay away from FNB. They will impose arbitrary spending limits on your account and there is no way to get around this.

My partner and I are currently on vacation and facing these limits, customer support are incapable of helping other than providing some regurgitated boiler plate responses.

We bought a pair of flight tickets for ~20K, this causes my partner to hit her limit for the month without any way of getting around (oh maybe I should mention the fact that there is money to spend, just that we aren’t allowed to thanks to FNB). In addition to this comes things like accommodation, food, shopping etc etc so good luck enjoying your vacation when you’re not allowed to spend your painfully hard earned money.

We spent hours and hours on chat, on telephonic support as well as pleading for assistance from our private bankers but they are equally as impotent as resolving this.

Stay away from this joke off a bank - the second I return from my vacation (which is spoiled because of all this ****) I will switch to a bank that you know, doesn’t hold your assets hostage.
