FNB Ebucks, move from private banking to private wealth - really bad experience
Trying to understand different account types and loyalty rewards today especially e-bucks is becoming a real problem. I had a private banking account with ebucks level4/5 and the benfits that come with it, and was then enticed online to become a private banking client with FNB. You would think that these benefits will come with you when you move to a higher suite. No, not e-bucks and FNB private wealth, in the interim period before anything is calculated you are on the new package, you get downgraded, and lose all your benefits on the level you were, because they have to get data to put you on the new level. In my case it was from the 22n of the month until ebucks was calculated on the 15th of the next month.
In other words, I had to know exactly when to upgrade my account in order to not lose the benefits and understood that I had to do it in this way. I was not explained this, nor did I read any terms that explicitly stated this. So in this transition period I used the private wealth card to access lounge visits and was charged for it. One of the explicit reasons that I have the account with ebucks, is to not pay for lounge visits.
No one at the private wealth or ebucks seems to understand or hear me about this issue, and everything has fallen on deaf ears and thus I am moving on. It is just plain bad service and a refusal to hear what the real issue is. A similar move with Discovery recently was seamless, and I never had any issues. Sorry to say FNB but if you keep on doing these things you are going to start losing customers.
