FNB eBucks make up the rules as they go!

FNB eBucks rules state you will earn 1000 points for the following:

Be registered for inContact, update your contact details at least once in a 12-month period via Online Banking, allow FNB to communicate with you by giving them consent to market to you and choose to receive all your statements via email only

A few months back, I queried not receiving these points, and was told that I had not updated my contact details in the last 12 months. Then, on 10 May, I logged into FNB online banking to do exactly that. I checked all contact details, and nothing had changed. I updated my qualification, and clicked "update". I am also registered for inContact, FNB do market to me, and I do receive my statements via email only. The following month I did receive the 1000 points for the contact details being updated.

However, come end of June, I was not awarded these points (meaning a drop in reward level and missing out on significant eBucks earn). When I queried this (through eBucks call centre as well as FNB), I was told that I had not updated my contact details, and the previous month's points were awarded to me in error. I argued that my contact details had not changed in the past 12 months, and that I did indeed go online to check all my details are up to date – which they were. On asking how I am supposed to “update” contact details that have not changed in the past 7 years, I was advised to “change my telephone number/s, then change them back again, so that the system will pick up the change”.

I honestly cannot believe that FNB and eBucks can expect us to change our (unchanged) contact details just for the sake of the system picking up the changes! This is NOT communicated ANYWHERE in their so-called rules!

I work hard to earn reward level 5, supporting FNB and their partners in the process, but I expect to be treated fairly when it comes to awarding these points. As stated above, I have queried this with both my FNB Private Banker and the eBucks call centre, and was told the same by both parties. I refuse to accept this response, and feel this is unfair treatment. I want this matter to be escalated to someone who can make a call on this, or perhaps justify to me how this is fair (which I doubt they will be able to do).

I want these points awarded to me, and my eBucks credited with the reward level 5 earn I was supposed to receive.
