FNB - Easiest bank for accounts to be hacked by Cyber crimes and the longest delays to investigate.

Regarding complaint ***NF, I was told via e-mail only by Joan Askham that their turn around time to provide feedback is 7-31 working days.

A ********** transaction was made from my debit order account (***) on Friday, the 17 February 2023 that amounts to R1922.60, an account that had a zero balance but FNB still chose to allow a payment of R1922.60 to go out without my consent.

The card replacement fee of R125 was reimbursed as well as the R200 change for not having funds in that account, this 2 charges that were reversed tell me that FNB is taking responsibility for that ********** transaction on my account.

I do not understand why i should be inconvenienced for 31 working days to either receive feedback or have that transaction of R1922.60 reversed due to the insufficient security measures put in place by FNB to avoid hacking of client's accounts.

I find your attached letter regarding your findings totally unacceptable, I would like for FNB to advise how an online payment of R1922.60 can be approved from an account that had a “Zero” balance at that time, never did I authorise or sign for FNB to advance me funds on my FND cheque account at that time.
Furthermore, I cannot explain to you how this money was removed from my account from a secure login….only explanation that I have is that FNB’s secure logins are not so secure after all and that when I reported this ********** transaction on the 17 February 2023, that transaction should have been reversed immediately and not wait for 3 weeks later to provide feedback.
Should you now NOT take liability for accessing my account that had a “ Zero” balance and deduct a further R1922.60 putting my account into a negative figure….could you explain to me why was the replacement card fee (R125) and the no funds charge(R200) refunded to me if you claim this was my fault.
I will continuously make the media aware of the unsatisfactory measures that FNB has in place when it comes to online ********** transaction and how they hold you liable for not have the adequate security measures in place.
