FNB E-wallet - get a new pin
FNB's e-wallet service has this shocking feature that can leave people in serious trouble, or at least very angry and frustrated trying to figure this out!
If you need to get new ATM pin, you have to dial *120*277# and request it. Sounds simple! However, if you don't have airtime it will not allow you to. You then need to dial *130*277# to access the funds from your phone and load the airtime which they provide you, at a cost of R2 in order to dial *120*277# to get a new pin, to access our money from an ATM.
However, now you can only withdraw what is left of your funds after the airtime purchase. So, iffor example someone sends you R50, you will not be able to withdrawal anything from most FNB ATM's as they only spit out notes of R50 and above.
What's worse, is if you use your emergency airtime from your service provider, it will not allow you to get a new either.
The irony is that to access our ewallet, to buy their overpriced airtime, in order get a new pin, to withdrawal our cash, and you will be R50 short from what expected in any case which at the end of the day can render your whole reason to use e-wallet useless!
What should be a easy, simple process can become an entire waste of time, effort and trust in FNB for this disingenuous challenge awaiting anyone wanting to make use of their e-wallet service. If someone needed this facility in a life or death situation, I am afraid the latter will be your likely outcome.
Recap: *120*277# = cant get a new pin without FNB's overpriced airtime! *130*277# = can freely access your funds to purchase their airtime, without having any airtime in your phone, in order to dial *120*277# to get a new pin, to withdrawal your funds, which will be R50 less that you expected...
There is also no support provided by FNB for this facility either.
Horrible!!!
