FNB DOESN'T OFFER PRE-APPROVALS ON HOME LOANS LIKE THEY CLAIM TO!

So today I went to FNB.. the branch in Norwood mall. I wanted to apply for a pre-approval on a home loan. The lady who assisted said they can't assist, i would have to apply via the app or website, which i then did.

I app**** on the FNB mobile app and for some reason they don't ask important questions like the amount that's needed.. but i app**** anyways.. supp**** my name, address and income. Immediately after clicking submit i got an email notification that they can't give the pre-approval because of information that's needed.

I called their customer care to find out what information and turns out to be the same info that should’ve been asked on the mobile app application but wasn't.

The solution to this he said was to " You need to apply for a home loan". I mean i didn't want to apply for it now, just needed a pre-approval. So, this to me feels like they are forcing people to apply for home loans. what if i apply and it gets rejected? I could've known right away with the pre-approval. Or what if it gets accepted and i don't want to continue? I just don't get it.

With Capitec, I managed to apply for the pre-approval without any issues. Really disappointed in FNB!
