FNB doesn't know how to help and its loyal customers!!!
I am a client of FNB for over 40 years with an excellent track record. I was unable to use my bank app because the system was down and was advised to try later. I tried the app the next morning and I received the same reply. I contacted a business banker and two tach consultants and none of them could help me. I was totally disgusted to be told that my app has been blocked for 48 hours by the system. There was nothing they could do. It's Friday and I was told not to open the app for 48 hours and that the senior consultant will be off this weekend so she will call me on Monday. In the meantime I was told that I must use my desk-top pc. I had to explain to her that I use my phone outside my home, so I need access to it. This did not matter to her. She made no attempt to try and fix the problem. The app department only works office hours but business banking is available 24 hours. How stupid I thought. Most clients rely on their phones to do banking transactions, so this service should be available round the clock. What I could not understand is why my app was blocked for no good reason. I have noticed ever since these banks got rid of staff and overloaded their current staff, their service has become appalling. I have been waiting for three years for them to close my bond but they sent me from pillar to post. I gave up trying They were a good bank in that past. I have had some terrible experiences with them during apartheid but they tried to change. They have gone so big that they don't really care once they secured you as a client. Best to join a bank that cares for their clients. Its an option I am going to exercise soon.
I was disappointed to read that another client complained about the same problem in 2019, so it is not a new problem. FNB is not really interested in solving this technical glitch. What a shame.
Today I had to buy electricity for my surgery via fnb online on my PC. It was a cumbersome process.
Firstly the maximum electricity I could buy was for a R1000. I needed R1200 electricity. IfI buy a second time, the same month City of Cap Town would charge me more..
I then had to wait for a 4 pin code. This took two hours to get my pin code.
I am not sure if the online would allow me to enter the in code if I delay.
With the app, I could purchase electricity immediately.
Frankly, FNB directors don't understand the needs of their customers.
What about people, who do not have access to laptop and internet?
I wish someone senior would talk to me. I am always contacted by consultants, who tell me that they can't do much.
FNB should change change from "how can I help you" to "sorry I can't help you".!!!
