FNB does not take clients privacy serious and follows it with poor customer service

The minimum standards for service and conduct expected from a banking institution would definitely include protection of the right to privacy of individuals, as the right to privacy is protected in terms of both our common law as well as in the Constitution. Together with this it is expected for conduct of a bank to be fair, transparent, taking accountability and being reliable.

FNB has a privacy policy which even state that they respect their clients privacy and private information and will take all reasonable measures to protect client's information and keep it confidential. Well that is quite debatable?!

I became aware that my banking information was obtained in an ******** manner from FNB and reported the matter to FNB at the Mall of the South Branch. I was informed that this will be reported to the Regional Manager and feedback will be provided. However, 2 weeks passed by and no feedback was received. I contacted them again to follow up and I was informed that the matter needs to be reported to the Investigations Department. I then reported it to the Investigations Department, to which I was told that the matter will be investigated and feedback will be provided within a week. Needless to say after numerous follow ups (which included great frustrations from myself) I was informed not to contact them again as the Business Department will be contacting me. Again nothing!!

Seems that FNB does not respect their client full stop! No respect for privacy, cannot treat their clients fairly and be transparent, definitely not reliable, and seems accountability is also questionable.... If in incident is reported of this serious nature, the common decency and service expected is that it will be taken serious and investigated, with regular feedback provided to the customer - is this not what customer service means?!
