FNB does not care about your business

BUSINESS BEWARE! TLDR; If you are looking for a bank to help you and your business, please do not consider FNB, they dont care!

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and have had all my business accounts through all those years with FNB. They are very quick to assist when you apply for a loan. But oh boy, when you want to pay off and close a loan.... It has been 2 weeks since my original request for them to close the loan account. The silence has been deafening.

Multiple calls and emails later trying to follow up, they still cannot just give me a simple answer as to what is going on. Needless to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I really thought that FNB has my business interests at heart, but it seems I was sorely mistaken.

I had requested the closure of the loan account on 24 February 2026. I had wanted to close it before the next debit run as this would have saved me a lot in interest. They confirmed that the balance would be deducted on the 25th of February. Nothing. I phoned them again, and they confirmed that the balance will be deducted and the account closed by 11am on the 25th. Again nothing. Call again, and get told that they will escalate it and that I do not have to worry it will be done before the next debit run. 26th of February, again, nothing. Call again, and I get told that the escalation takes 72 hours. And since then nothing! We are now on the 9th of March and still, NOTHING!

But make no mistake, they were SUPER ON-TIME to take my money when it was debit run time.

Again, if you are a business looking for a bank to help you and your business, please please PLEASE, look elsewhere. FNB does not care about you, your money or your business!
