FNB does me in for R4000.00 Don't make the same mistake I did - Read this.

For those of you that have purchased devices, and/or insurance through FNB (First national Bank), this is for you....Please don't make the mistake I did, and simply trust them (even if you are like me, who has been a client of FNB's for 8 plus years). Make sure you read through their paperwork thoroughly! I have been paying insurance on my iPhone 5 for almost 4 years now CLAIM FREE!!! I have been paying premiums for the value of R10 156.00 cover on my phone, always paying, even when premiums went up, because hey, I have been with this bank for so long and they have never given me reason not to trust and frankly we have always had quite the good business relationship. But now that I need FNB to honor me and my claim, they have bitterly disappointed me, enraged me really. FNB did not even communicate with me what device they will be replacing mine with - the actual iPhone stockist told me, only after I was like "Um no I won't pay the excess until you tell me what you replacing my apparently irreparable phone with?" (Yup I just needed it repaired), to which they confirmed they will be replacing my 10K + insured phone, with an iPhone 5s, hardly worth R6000.00. Whaaaaaaat??? I know! So I mailed FNB disputing this, only for them to highlight some little sentence stating they may replace at their discretion with an equal value (of the now almost 4 years outdated) phone, that I have been paying premiums to cover R10k+!!!!! Like what even do I do with this except suck it up, take this R6k phone, despite my R10K+ cover, and move the FFF on. But not without letting EVERYONE know just what's up at FNB! A client for over 8 years, a phone CLAIM FREE and still I get done in! Nice FNB. Will definitely be cancelling the rest of my insurance with you, I have 3 in total, taking this somewhere else. Hope this helps someone out there! If you are with FNB insure, and you don't feel like moving, then fight for a better premium, because I can promise you they will not honor the amount your paying for. Peace. x (PS: Insult to injuring, when i reposnd back to their mail stating they are within their rights, I politely made my unhappiness known, they still have not reached out to me, nor mailed me back, but instead told the iPhone stockist to phone me urgently, thinking i would pay in 6k or something for a better phone!!? Madness)

So it is now 2 full weeks since I posted this, and since FNB has promised to escalate and sort this issue out, and I have received not 1 email nor 1 phone call getting us closer to a solution!!!!! Just promises to escalate to 'this manager' and 'that department', no actual results Terrible service from FNB. So now not only do they try doing me in on my insurance, but they make me wait and wait and wait, sitting with an old phone to get me by till I get a new one, no on the go access to my emails and important contact, and being a free lancer, this is a big problem for me! Now why is this happening when I have insurance?? So I pay my premiums every month, on time, a great client, and now that I need services delivered for what I have paid for, I am left waiting for weeks on end with no joy. Pathetic. Starting to look around for other insurance, no ways I will go through all of this again should anything ever happen to my other devices I have insured with FNB. Madness. Unacceptable. Ridiculous. Can't believe after all my years with FNB, I am so poorly valued, with very little if not NO consideration from my bank. Very sad.
