FNB dilly-dallying

On my monthly statement, I always see lumpsums of "Value Added Services" and "Service Fees" as fees debited from my acccount by FNB in addition to Monthly Account Fees and Cash Deposit Fees. Last month, those two charges were quite high and I asked FNB to give me a detailed breakdown of how they arrived at those amounts but for almost 2 weeks, they've been taking me in circles. For them to charge me a certain amount, there must be a way they reached it and I want a breakdown of that so as to make informed decisions on my future bank transactions but FNB does not want to give it - so that they keep on charging me (like many others) blindly. I have sent emails, phoned them, visited a branch but up to now nobody can give me that breakdown. Twice they've sent me the general pricing guide but I don't need that. I need an outline of all the transactions they added up to reach the amounts they charged me. Whichever system billed me must be able to produce that.

It's strange the way banks want to get money from us quickly but when it comes to them doing their part, they drag their feet, dilly-dally and give all sorts of excuses to run away from their responsibilities. I sometimes think banks are the biggest official **** that the modern era ever unleashed on humanity, with just the degree varying between the different banks. I notice it's a trend of banks to keep us in the dark of how they charge us. They never even send notifications when they take banking charges off our accounts.

Eish, I wish there was a way to live without banks.
