FNB DEVICE INSURANCE JUST WANS TO CON THE CONSUMER
FNB is very quick to offer customers phones, laptops etc, together wit their lousy insurance package. I lost my fone in 2013. I informed them of this. They were quick to say I could not claim within a 3 month period without paying and excess of R1500. This was not on for me. They insisted they had emailed the terms and conditions of the cell insurance to me. They didn't. I took them to insurance ombudsman who ruled in my favor but I still had 2 pay R500 excess. I advise that customers do not take device insurance with FNB, rather deal with Edcon. They settle claims in a max of 2 days with no fuss and no hassles. From 2013, till now, they are still deducting insurance for my phone, when I had clearly mailed them and asked them to stop. After many phone calls they say they are going to refund me, but I wontt hold my breathe...
