FNB Destroyed my Credit Score among Covid-19 Outbreak because I didn't accept initial loan amount.

Last week, realizing that a national lockdown was imminent, I decided to apply for a loan via my FNB banking app so that I could take care of my unemployed mother, and other family members. My app said that I was approved for a 60-month loan of R68,000. FNB then gave me a call on Tuesday, and they offered me a preapproved loan less than half of the value of the original amount that my app showed me. I figured that this was because there was a Temp Loan on my account and I told Lebogang that I will think about it, and get back to him, since I wanted to repay the Temp Loan. Which I did, within 7 days of taking the Temp, as opposed to the 31 days that I had. I believed that this would improve my credit score, which was already excellent; I had spent 4 years building a good credit score.

So, imagine my surprise when I reapp**** for the loan, and I was only approved for R7,000 two days after being offered the initial preapproved R30,000. I couldn't believe it; then, when I had a look at my Nav-Money on the app, my credit score, which was almost a perfect green, was red and orange, and my score was completely tanked. The app also says that my "credit usage across my accounts is high." Do note that the only debt that I do have is a Mr. Price account, that I have never missed a payment on, and most months, I pay more than the minimum required.

Because of this, I tried to apply for a loan through different institutions, and I am considered extremely high risk, because of FNB's fault, and I can't make a loan for more than R6,000. Now, at a time when I need money the most to look after my family, my score that I spent 4 years building is completely destroyed.

Do you know how much I regret not taking that initial R30,000 that was preapproved? Is it my fault or FNB's that my credit score has been destroyed? I would understand if I actually took the loan and didn't repay it, but how does it work that if I don't agree to a loan it goes against my credit.

Please, I need this sorted, my family needs my assistance.
