FNB ***** DEPARTMENT FAILURE TO REIMBURSE LOST FUNDS.
In Jan 2024,I lost about R1.2million through a ****,however the funds were transfered from my FNB Cheque account to another FNB Account. Upon realizing that it was a ****,I immediately contacted the Fnb ***** dept and was informed to open a case at my local police station, which I have done and provided FNB ***** dept with the relevant case no and documents. It has been months and I still have not heard from FNB,despite the fact that I was realibly informed that the "****mers" accounts were blocked and there were definitely recoveries meaning FNB should have been able to atleast partially reimbursed a portion of my money,if not all of it. I have made numerous attempts to contact my personal banker, but to no avail. I believe in this regard FNB has failed me as a customer, despite the fact that another customer with a similar case, was partially reimbursed. Why was my case treated differently. My complaint no with FNB ***** Dept is.***.
Further to the private reply from FNB,I am not satisfied with their response, there was no need for FNB to have rep**** privately, they could have responded on the platform..Anyway, we are still of the opinion that the bank acted in bad faith and are not honest in this regard.
While I have lost over R1.2million through a ****, the bank knew very well that there were recoveries through the ****mers account/s been blocked and frozen by them,as we were reliably informed by sources in the bank. The recovered funds gets "Stashed" into a CARA account (******** Asset Recovery Account),what does the bank do with those funds??....instead they could have and still can reimburse me part of my money.
All I expected from FNB was to atleast reimbursed me part of my money, seeing that the ****mers used their systems and me as an FNB client felt comfortable, because it was "my" bank as well.
Im of the opinion that when it comes to black people,FNB treat our cases different and not with not the same urgency and respect it deserves, because why was a certain gentleman reimbursed, while my case was basically just "thrown to the side".
I am hardly getting any responses from a "so-called" private banker whose name I cannot mention on the platform.
All I expect fom FNB is to act in the best interest of their clients and do the honorable thing...reimburse me my money or atleast part of it..I told the private banker that I am prepared to settle for atleast 50% or even a 1/4 of my lost funds.
