FNB ***** Department
FNB ***** Department - my business account was locked on 12 May 2024 for a supposed *****ulent transaction, no communication whatsoever from FNB, we only realized the account was locked on Monday when we wanted to pay our suppliers. We have phoned FNB more than 6 times, holding on the phone for a minimum 15 minutes each time, and getting no help at all. Till to date, we have no idea what the issue with the account is, each consultant we speak to promises "to escalate the issue, and that we would get a call back to clarify the issue within the same day" it's been 10 days, NO COMMUNICATION!!!! ABSOLUTE ******* SERVICE FROM SUCH A BIG ORGANIZATION. Is it standard practice to put a lock on clients accounts and not communicate to them for 10 days? How must we pay our suppliers and employees when our business account is locked without explanation? how must we pay our employees? Does communicating a supposed problem take 10 days? is our money safe?
I can confirm the issue has now been resolved. Herewith my take on the whole experience.
1. The issue was resolved within 30 minutes after publishing this review - this was the FIRST time I received a call initiated by FNB within the 10 days that the account was locked. All the previous 6 times that I communicated with the consultants were initiated by me, with all consultants promising to "escalate the issue" and no one ever phoned back.
2. Surely since it took 30 minutes to resolve the issue, one shouldn't have to post a bad and rude review in order to get assistance promptly, especially after waiting for 10 days.
3. Lack of communication - for me this whole experience could have been avoided with any form of communication. I do not think it is reasonable to wait 10 days to communicate the problem, a simple email or phone call to say, "this is the problem, we are investing the problem and we will give you feedback once our investigations are finalized" would have been appreciated. I mean we only found out the account was locked when we tried to pay our suppliers.
4. I am all for security and safety, in fact I appreciate all the safety protocols, but these have to be communicated to give someone peace of mind, especially when you are holding their money/interrupting their business activity. 10 days without a single indication of what the issue pertains to is not reasonable, despite 6 phone calls from myself trying to get clarity.
Thanks
Steven.
