FNB Deliberately and Erroneously Damaged my Credit Score and Will not Admit Fault

FNB erroneously reported to credit bureaus that I had an overdue credit card which was handed over to legal collection, which was in fact an internal error. I found out about this when applying for a homeloan, which was nearly half the loan value of my current mortgage, for a house that's been sold. Naturally, because of this, my application was declined. I spent a whole working day trying to get to the bottom of this, only to be placed on hold for 30 minutes please, over and over again. The implication of this is that I now have a terrible credit record and cannot get a homeloan at a decent rate, despite the fact that I managed my finances superbly.

FNB really caused me a lot of frustration and embarrassment - I cannot quantify the damage that was done now. To make it worse, all i get from FNB's legal department is a confirmation of account closure with a disclaimer that I will be held liable for debts due to me. The address on that letter is my student address, which I haven't lived at for over 10 years.

FNB really figured out how to ***** their clients over. And they don't care.
