FNB Defective Payment Authorisation via Mobile app.
This past week I have been experiencing endless problems with my FNB Business account and EFT's. FNB must have recently modified their systems because I have certain vendors who are either paid daily or weekly and the payments previously did not require authorisation using the FNB Mobile app. Now each and every payment needs to be authorised via the FNB Mobile app which is already an irritation as it requires an extra step and there does not appear to be any settings on the FNB Web Portal where you can disable this extra step. Be that as it may I believe with this recent change by FNB (I received zero correspondence / communication from FNB concerning the new requirement to authorise each and every payment via the Mobile app.) has overwhelmed their systems because for the past week I have experienced numerous payment delays because sometimes the same payment needs to be authorised up to eight (8) times via the Mobile app. before it is processed by FNB. Even after I confirm the payment using the FNB Mobile app. it claims the payment has been authorised and you can check the Web Portal for confirmation of the EFT being released, however the Web Portal has a payment countdown from 100 to zero and it will time out i.e. reach zero even after being authorised and then you have to start the entire process over. For every 10 EFT's I process, 9 out of 10 require a minimum of three (3) to four (4) attempts before being released. It is all good and well FNB wanting to increase security on clients banking accounts with all these extra steps, but then implement and properly test your systems before getting your customers to do the 'beta-testing' for you as I can confirm there is definitely a problem with these new changes as the payments should be processed the first time they are authorised and not on the tenth attempt!
