FNB Declined My Home Loan – Ignored My Formal Complaint Despite Me Being Able to Buy the House Outright
I have been a loyal FNB customer for many years with multiple accounts, shares, and significant cash holdings.
I recently app**** for a home loan. Two other banks approved my application. FNB declined it.
I requested a review. FNB declined it again.
What makes this absurd:
I have more than enough cash in my accounts to purchase the property outright, without needing any loan.
The monthly bond repayment would be less than what I currently pay in rent – which I have been paying consistently for years.
Despite all of this, FNB's credit team said I don't have "enough disposable income" – a decision that contradicts my actual financial position which they have full visibility of.
The worst part: I submitted a formal complaint through the proper channels. It has now been several days, and FNB has not even bothered to acknowledge or respond to my complaint. Only a generic reply.
Loyal customers deserve better than being ignored. I have already started closing my accounts.
FNB, if you value customer relationships, you need to do better.
