FNB DECEIVED MY BUSINESS WITH COVID RELIEF LOAN
I app**** for the covid relief for business @ fnb, they send me an email to say my business qualifies for the saft relief loan and once approved they will send me a contract to sign. I responded with with excitement and even informed my workers about it, and they were happy about it. FNB later sent me a contract and requested that I sign and return the contract, promising to make the payment within 7 day after the signing of the contract. I signed the contract and returned it to FNB the same day. I waited for 7 days, and there was no payment, and a month passed, and the second month passed with no payment. After the third month without any sign of payment from the bank, I phoned the bank covid relief help desk, they sent me from pillar to post, asking me to send loan references. They promised to rectify and revert to me. I waited for another 2 week only for them to come back and tell me the SAFT loans have been exhausted and they can't assist. I felt so much deceived by a bank I trusted. I had made plan around the relief loan for my employees, they even requested I send their banking details. I'm asking myself how could they have approved a loan for my business to the extent of giving me a contract and then come with with an excuse that the funds are depleted. A contract should be binding on both parties, I felt and still feel cheated and deceived by the bank. As a result of their deceit and lies my business has been negatively impacted to the extent having to lay off some employees. The bank did not even bother to phone or send me an email to update me about the relief loan, I guess they just took that contract and put it into the bin. How could ghey have approved a loan to the extent of signing a contract and later after 3 months tell me the money is finished. I have been running my business with FNB for years now, and now I think it's time to leave them, they are not worthy to be trusted and are *********. The banks deception not only affected my business, but the workers and their families. You don't approve loans when you do not have the money. You cannot give me a contract and later tell me you don't have the money.
