FNB DEBT REVIEW CENTRE PREPOSTEROUS CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have been under debt review for a number of years, in fact almost 8 years now, and as anyone who has ever been under debt review can attest, when the ending nears, it is a bitter sweet moment. Well, FNB Debt Review Centre has not only left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, but has also been delaying the process of me receiving my FINAL paid up letter, which will then set in process the path of me receiving my clearance certificate. I have received paid up letters from all my other creditors promptly – FNB being the exception or maybe they believe themselves to be the rule.
I phoned their Debt Review Centre for a settlement quotation on my final account with them – My FNB Cheque Account Overdraft. I received this settlement letter a few days later on the 3rd of September 2020. As soon as I received the letter, I made an instant payment to the account to ensure the funds show immediately and emailed them promptly with the proof of payment. By the 8th of September I still have not has a single response from FNB Debt Review Centre. I then phoned the call centre, speaking to a lady name Bonolo, who assured me that she has sent the request through to have the account closed and paid up letter sent to me.
It has now been 15 days, 11 working days since my first request for the account to be closed and a paid up letter to be sent. Myself and my debt review company have emailed ***. I have emailed both *** and *** – every time receiving automated responses stating how many working days it will take for my query to be resolved. I have phoned the call centre numerous times – most of the time you hold on for up to 45min and in some cases someone eventually answers your call, but they can never hear you so they end the call or after holding on for such a long time, they just simply cut your call. My burning question is this: How much longer must I wait for them to finally do their job? How many more working days will I wait before someone actually wakes up to close an account that was settled 15 days ago and send me my final paid up letter? Why have a whole Call Centre dedicated to debt review when the supposed service is absolutely non-existent? I am wholly and utterly disgusted with this ostensive “Customer Service” and the manner in which this is being handled!
