FNB Debt cover for loss of income
I have submitted a claim for debt cover which based on my policy also for loss of income. The business I work at was looted. I always pay my accounts, its always been in good standing. I get two payments per month from the business and I havent been paid in two months. I haven’t gotten a reply from FNB life with regards to the final out come of my claim. A calls once saying its ongoing. The problem is I was told on Thursday the 2nd of Aug, from my personal banker, that my claim was rejected a long time ago on the 17th of July and no reason given. I have been desperately waiting as month end approached to find out if I would be paid out before my stop orders would come through. Expecting at least two payments (made up of my 4 salary payments I would have gotten over the two months) as I have not been paid for two months. Instead, nothing.
Words cannot describe how angry I am at the moment for the following: 1. Rejecting my claim when I am paying and have been paying for this cover for years. 2. Not communicating to me with regards to why it was rejected or even just calling me this week.
I am beyond disappointed. I am in need of assistance and do not want to take on more debt by using the relief cover FNB has if I have an insurance in place. I will be looking at perhaps switching banks as I have started a new business, and I cannot work with a bank that I feel I cannot trust. I am sharing my experience on social media as this is poor form by FNB Life. Everyone remember that at the end of the day businesses like these have no heart, it seems to be all about taking your money and then looking for ways to sneak out of paying your return. I managed to borrow money from family and submitted my Tax reruns which has helped me survive the last two months. I am now s****ing the bottom of the barrel and what I have in my account, what I owe family and on my credit card, I will not make it this month let alone make payments for all my debit orders. I will need to take a loan and incur more debt. Maybe that's the plan.
