FNB debit order reverses even though I had sufficient funds

Yesterday I had sufficient funds for a Telkom debit order and it went off successfully around 16:00 then at midnight FNB reversed it and charged me R110 for insufficient funds. Now I’m owing Telkom R550 because of that and my credit score will be at risk. I phoned FNB but no one could help me as I’m told many stories about pending payments and that I didn’t have sufficient funds and what not. You will always get stories when you are enquiring.

I was told that my query will only be resolved in 3-4 working days and nothing was said about the R550 that I now have to make to Telkom. Such a shame for us who struggle to make ends meet and having to be ********** the very same money that we work hard for.

I don’t think I’ll even wait for the query to resolved, if it ever gets to that. I’m already moving to another bank which will perhaps have fewer problems than FNB whom I’ve been banking with for years.

Hi FNB

I can see that FNB has done the reversal of the R110 debit order fee to my account.

However the fact that I still need to pay Telkom their debit order of R349 plus R220 that they charge for not honouring the debit order is not addressed.

Please advise me as to how this will work or FNB will just shove that under the carpet and I get left to see whatever I do to salvage my credit record?

I am still unanswered on my previous query. FNB realised that they at fault by reversing my debit order because they have reversed the fee that they charged me for the debit order.

But now I’m still owing Telkom R349 plus R220 for reversing the payment (which FNB did, not me).

So I’m asking what am I supposed to do, or do I have to figure that out by myself and FNB doesn’t care?

I won’t stop writing until I get a response.
