FNB
It is with deep regret I type this message. I had activated my FNB Debt Protection Plan this year April, submitting all necessary paper work, I was approved for a period of 12 months. I received my first payment in the month of May, covering April as well, the second payment was in June. July was non-payment and August was non-payment. I then called FNB to query the claim and failure of payment for the two months, as that payment goes towards my credit card, which was at this point, accumulating interest. I was informed that my profile/claim was under review and was actually reviewed every month, according to the Life department, whilst the claim is under review, communication is sent to Card Divison, notifying them of the review and delay, clearly there was some miscommunication. I then contacted card division, to be told, that no such communication comes through to them and they are unable to assist me or rectify the interest accumulating. After many calls to FNB life, the September payment was made of the 7th of the 9th month. Only to go through it all over again this month, with the outstanding payments of July and August still looming over me. I am appalled by the lack of communication, the poor service and the failure to honour the 12 claim period of this claim. Moreover, every time I contact FNB, I am put on hold, I don't get any assistance from them, other than my case been escalated. I get know further information. During a time such as this, with bills to pay and no income, after losing my job due to Covid, I would think my Bank would have my back, on a "Plan" that I was paying for, for years before this happened. They made no means to cover the months prior to September and I have to call them continuously just to hear the same things and no means to resolve my problem of non-payment. After a whole week of this, the calls, the airtime, the stress and frustration, I receive a sms this morning that my claim has been waivered, which leaves me where exactly? So much for the Debt Protection Plan that I’ve paid for.
