FNB Customer Service falls flat on it's face

Every time (couple of years), you will get a new card in the month your old card expires. This is actually a great thing.

But here is where FNB customer service falls flat on it's face :

Do they send the card to your house (deliver) ? NO - and I can still live with that. Do they send it to the branch where you opened your account ? Nope - which I can also understand because you might have moved away since then. Do they send it to the branch closest to your home address ? NO (why not)

Where do they send it to ? In my case : a branch located 24,5 km away from my house and that is if I use toll roads (so it's probably further / takes longer if I avoid the toll roads). You might actually think it is the closest branch to my work. But no, our offices are 40km away (also using toll roads).

So why, FNB, do I have to go and collect my card at a branch where I have never even been in the area ? How did we get to this point ?

Contacting customer service, the reply is : if you do not want to collect it there, you have to order a new card.

Really, FNB ? You do realise that your cards have the client's name on. Meaning the card currently issues will be destroyed and a new card 'made'. I, of course, will have to pay for that (or else it's part of your excessive monthly fees anyway). Do you guys ever check how much money get's wasted this way (not to mention the pollution)

So FNB - what's the solution to this ?

Regards

Alex
