FNB credit not helpful
ive been having an issue with FNB regarding my credit card.. mail sent to FNB.. lady handling the request dated ( 10 \ 09 \2020 - Case number but number attached to mail communication ***)).
i had a rental car and i had to provide a deposit amount for the rental that the time, i then moved money from my savings to my credit card.. i then swiped my credit card in witch i have an transaction stating that R1600 has been reserved
money is reserved and I don't have access to that money.. so all is well and Rental car is then returned.. so then i expect the funds in my account to be there again - in other words have access to the R1600 that was previously held back reserved.
also not that i have a SMS confirmation when i swiped for the deposit that money was reserved and that i don't have access and that my balance was R-1600.. rental company did advise that money will take up to 5 working days to reflect.
money did not reflect, i then called the bank and the call centre was useless.. i asked them to check for me what the balance in the credit card was when i did the transaction for the rental car.. they could not provide me with that details..
i had to go back to my sms's to confirm what the amount was as FNB cant check on a credit card what balance there is after a transaction is done but yet FNB has a SMS notification that tells you the same information.
so i head to the bank to get better assistance, i speak to the bank guys and they all speak the same tune.. MONEY NEVER LEFT MY ACCOUNT..
i advise them that with all my calculations from what went in and what went out it still doesnt add up to what should be in the account ( credit Card ) i also advised that if i got my money back why did my balances not change a week after the car was returned ??
i advised FNB that if money was reserved.. i never had access too.. then how do i spend money that is reserved ??
see below response that reverse to my above statement..
Good day MR VANCHANZO C N PETERS
Thank you for writing to us. We acknowledge receipt of your complaint.
The rental deposit amount was never removed of the credit card physically. The rental company does a transaction to the bank to confirm if there is money on the amount. The bank then sends them an authorization code to confirm that there is available fund which then generates an incontact message. The Funds never leave the account. The funds are pended till the rental is returned, once the rental is returned and everything is in order the funds are then upended.
This transaction will not appear of the statements as the funds never left the account therefore no refund needs to be done.
Kind regards Byron Vallar FNB Credit Card | Retail Banking 30 Diagonal Street, FNB Place, Johannesburg,2001 AGAIN I STRESS.. when money was reserved, the R1600 was reserved I never had access to the money.. so how does one spend money when its reserved. also in all mail communication FNB says the same thing
i have in my possession a slip detailing the transaction, i then also have an sms that money was reserved and that i never had access to the money.
FNB to date has not proved anything with my request.. i asked them to show me details of how money was reserved and how money was released into my account.. i have valid proof of the transaction FNB has nothing but telling me THAT MONEY NEVER LEFT THE ACCOUNT
FNB goes quiet and i must accept that I'm minus R1600 that never left my account as per FNB but I have the SMS and the slip to prove what I'm speaking about.. and all FNB can tell me that money never left the account with no proof..
i
