FNB Credit Card Settled but Still Incorrectly Reflected on Credit Bureau
I am extremely disappointed with FNB’s handling of my credit card account after settlement.
My FNB credit card was settled in full and closed in October 2024. Despite this, the account is still reflecting on my credit bureau record, more than a year later. This has negatively affected my credit profile and required unnecessary time and effort from my side to try and correct.
I have contacted FNB and requested:
That the credit bureaus be updated to reflect the correct status, and
A formal settlement/closure letter in PDF format so I can dispute the listing directly if needed.
To date, this has still not been resolved.
Under the National Credit Act, credit providers are required to report accurate and up-to-date information to credit bureaus and ensure that settled accounts are reflected within a reasonable time. A delay of over a year is neither reasonable nor acceptable.
I am not disputing the debt — it was paid and closed. I am simply asking that FNB correct its records and provide the necessary confirmation.
I hope FNB will urgently resolve this matter and restore confidence in their post-settlement processes.
