FNB credit card rejected overseas.

I am FNB Private clients for a year and ever since my experience is as bad as it can get, I was Platinum client for years before and never had such a problems, This suppose to be premium service but the quality of service and support is worst .
I am overseas currently and prior to travelling I contacted my Private clients banker to make sure my cards(cheque and credit card) are open and will work overseas, i got confirmation e-mail that the cards are open, Upon my arrival and trying to pay for my groceries at lager retail shop I was embarrassed by both my FNB cards not working(not accepted) standing on the que with trolley full of groceries I don't wish anyone to be on my shoes. Lucky for me I have Virgin money credit card that rescued me in this embarrassing situation, I just taught for a moment \what if I did not have this alternative"strangled in foreign country with no funds available..
Then contacted my premier banker for days to try and solve the problem. No luck"
