FNB Credit Card Legal blunder

I have been a FNB customer for many years and I have always believed in their products. Recently, however, something happened that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I am in the process of buying property as I am finally in a strong financial position to do so but this course of events has left me stranded.

Several years ago I ran into financial difficulty and a FNB (Discovery) Credit Card account was handed over to FNB Legal and Connack Muller & Co assigned to handle collections for the account. I started making regular payments and during September 2016 I was in a position to settle and approached CMC to obtain a settlement letter in order to settle the account.

An amount was relayed to me via an official letter from CMC and I immediately paid the amount in full. Shortly afterwards, I received a letter from CMC attorneys stating my FNB account had been PAID UP IN FULL. (See attachment)

Several weeks passed and I noticed the account still remained in arrears on my personal banking profile. After another week it transpired that FNB had omitted to notify CMC of a "reversal" that was made and there was still an outstanding amount of R2064. I have no knowledge of this reversal as it dates back as far as 2014.

In the meantime I have app**** to FNB Home Loans for a bond and because of the account still showing an arrears on my personal banking profile, FNB will not even consider looking at my home loan application.

I made the final payment of R2300 this morning in an attemp to expidite getting my banking profile clear and I sincerely hope the matter is rectified immediately. I have attached all relevant documents
