FNB credit card issue and disappointment

I had a credit card with FNB about 22 years ago and it was fully paid up when I closed my account. Now I am applying for a credit card with them and is declined due to the apparent fact that I already have a credit card and that it is not paid up???? 22 years??? Extremely disappointed. In the process of taking all my business to FNB, but now reconsidering... I need this credit card for car rental etc!
