FNB CREDIT CARD HOLDERS BEWARE OF THEIR DEBIT ORDER SYSTEM

I used to be a RMB client, but downgraded due to the shocking lack of service especially once the Private Bankers were allowed to work from home. I downgraded to Premier but retained my credit card status of R50 000 credit. I go out shopping on Sunday. First stop a R35 coffee, card declined. Tried twice. I did not have my cheque card with me but thankfully had a R100 hidden in my purse. Went to pay for an item in another shop. DECLINED. Came home to secure chat. Waited 5 min in queue. Only to be addressed on a first name basis by the call centre agent which was truly annoying as we are not friends and it was a truly embarrassing day where I could not even buy food! Waited another 10 min for my profile to be accessed. Then was told this gibberish in response to why my card was declined when I had an open credit balance PLUS almost R80 000 in my cheque account to settle the credit card. RESPONSE: Thank you for your patience, reason why the transaction was decline is because account status was not being updated immediately after it was not in an open status". FNB PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS ENGLISH OR GIBBERISH OR WHAT IS THIS? I was declined all over on a Sunday with my cheque card being at home and only my credit card, and thankfully R65 left in my purse to pay my parking and get home. Thank God I had petrol!! A further request for clarification from your call centre agent: Your account cycle closed on the 07 of each month and the debit order clears after 3-5 working days, and because the 7this on a Sunday and Sunday is to calculated as a working days thus the the debit order is still uncleared." The typos are all the call centres. ALSO FNB, today is the 6th and Monday is the 7th!!! Does this mean EVERY ONE OF YOUR FNB credit cards were declining today and you chose to make Sunday 7th not Monday?

Called your centre. Received NONSENSICAL RESPONSE: Unfortunately the debit was returned. No reason. I said let's look into my account. Well there is over to R400 000 AVAILABLE.
Then agent said no last months debit was returned. Let's check last months account. Yes over R400 000 available as well. FNB EXPLAIN

Furthermore, I am told a debit was returned BUT also at the same time it takes 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS TO CLEAR a debit from my cheque account with FNB to my CREDIT CARD? So debit goes off on 1 NOVEMBER which is a TUESDAY, and I am supposed to wait until Monday 7TH NOVEMBER for a R250 debit to clear? 7 days without use of my card? Which is still not open as of now. DECLINED? But over R 15 000 available and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS IN CHEQUE TO DEBIT ?? So BEWARE, never trust FNB
