FNB Credit Card Downgrade Woes

I decided to downgrade my FNB credit card from Premier to Gold after they watered down the SLOW Lounge benefits.

It has been a nightmare and is still pending. I went into a branch on the 3rd of Jan to downgrade my debit card (which took a week and multiple phone calls after this visit). At the branch the teller and I both spoke to the Credit Card division who put the request through for the credit card downgrade. I was told I will receive a new credit card contract via email.

After waiting 4 days I tried phoning but kept on being transferred from department to department so I put a complaint through on the FNB website. Somebody phoned me on 6th of January to advise me that both my cards have not even been processed and she will help sort it out.

On the 10th of January I decided to go back to the branch for some assistance. The Branch Manager helped me dial another number and the lady told me that Lindiwe who had put the request through on 3rd of January had sent it to the wrong email address, so the process will only begin on the 10th.

It is now the 12th and I haven't heard back at all, and I predict FNB will charge me for a Premier card even though it is their mistake. Service has been poor, at this stage if it is easier to cancel the card completely I will probably take that route. I have been banking with FNB for 20 years, and if it is more important to source new business than care for long term clients they are making it quite clear. I feel the don't care attitude in every one of the interactions in the last 2 weeks.
