FNB converting overdraft to personal loans without notifying clients

I've been a client of FNB for over 14 years and took me a great frustration to publish this review here.

For the past month, I've been trying to get FNB explain the loan account ********** 131751 that reflects on my online profile that I'm not aware of. Been trying to get through to FNB on this contact number ***that just wrings unanswered all the time. On March 13 I send my query to ********** and was issued with Ref: ********** Q; however I have not received any feedback since then.

On March 12 I then decided to visit their branch at The Grove Mall in Pretoria. I spent a good 3 hours while the consultant was busy in contact with their internal departments to try and get this resolved. I left the branch with the issue unresolved was promised someone from their legal department (Nhlakanipho Buthelezi) would call and to this day I have not been contacted by anyone.

March 20 I contacted FNB debt review centre on ********** following up on this query and the feedback i received was that this is a personal loan account that was converted from an overdraft after 6 months having entered into a debt review. However, it hasn't been paid since conversion and has been accumulating interest not withstanding the fact that monies have been directly paid into my account every month to get my accounts with FNB settled.

My question is that why must I settle this account when FNB did not notify me or my debt counselor of this overdraft to loan conversion? This account was not accounted for when i entered into the debt review.

I'm in the process of clearing my name; however this has been hampered by FNB.

Frustrated Client

Query turn around time from your Debt Review centre is pathetic. It takes over a week for them to reply emails and if they do, the response is inadequate. I fail to understand why no one from FNB has bothered to call to better understand the issue as email communication is clearly not working? Considering switching banks
