FNB Connect - terrible reception and call center service

Hi there

Since migrating to FNB, I have missed numerous calls. I don't have reception (in Bellville) or at home (in Parow). After talking to the call center, they instructed me to select Vodacom as network provider. I did it and my reception was immediately better. However, I did not realize that my data was now ******ed. I can only receive Edge - permanently!!! So I must either choose to have proper voice reception or proper data reception but not both at the same time. This is absolutely absurd!!! I cannot believe it!

I phoned the helpdesk again and they said they will investigate and phone me back right away. That was 5 days ago. When I phoned again, they said they can't get through to me.

Hello, that is because I dont have any signal! That is the problem in the first place!

After phoning back 6 times to try to speak to a manager, I am being put on hold ...... and ..... nothing happens.

I am still waiting on a resolution and in the mean time keep missing important work calls.

Terrible service FNB! This was not in your sales pitch!!!

So 2 days later....

2 Calls from FNB with apologies and promises of actions within 24 to 48 hours, but NO ACTION. MY phone is in exactly the same state. Keep on missing calls, date reception is poor too.

What is the amount of garaunteed uptime according to your contract FNB? I am sure I am not getting that.

Wonder if I am getting another call with promises today?

Daffnie, I appreciate your apology but I need some action. It really is not helping my case getting calls that say we giving it our top priority but no action.

What I would like to know is: if it was given top priority, what has been done to date. Because I suspect nothing has been done so far.

So 2 weeks later, still not resolved. Still frustrated. Still missing important calls at work. Still cant connect to vodacom network and receive 3G data.

Lots of calls, lots of apologies, lots of stories, lots of different engineers.

NO SOLUTION!!!!

And now I am starting to receive this:

"Not registered on the network"

It is going from bad to worse.

Terrible, Absolutely terrible.

At this point I would rather go back to MTN (never thought it would go worse)

After 6 weeks of promises, and beign pointed from west to East, this has finally come to the point that I want to port away from. There is just NO delivery on any promises and complete incompetence at support, engineering and management level.

So I put in a request that they put me on pay as you go so that I can speak to another service provider. What does FNB do, they disable my account with immediate effect. So now I am unreachable on my cell number , missing important business call left, right and center. This have been the single most pathetic customer service I have ever experienced in life. Hopefully my message will serve as a warning to hundreds of thousands of people who are considering FNB connect as a service provider - DON'T DO IT!
