FNB Connect taking money without providing service

I tried to switch to FNB connect in October, but due to me still having a 30-day notice period with Cell-C, I could not get my number ported over to the FNB SIM card. We were told that my last service day with Cell-C would be the 30th of November 2016 and we would only be able to port my number to FNB after that date.

In the meantime, despite not being able to port my number across, FNB took money from my account for portion of Oct/Nov and Nov/Dec to the total of about R700. I have raised this several times with FNB via my online banking portal and in the branch. I was told twice that I would hear from the refunds department when I should expect the money back in my account.

To date, I have not heard from FNB. I logged yet another query via internet banking portal, but STILL I have heard nothing.

Since my number only got ported on the 2nd of December and subsequently could not have been charged for anything prior to that date as my number was still in use on Cell-C until the end of November, I requested a refund. How could they take my money if the service wansn't active??

I am yet to have any contact whatsoever from FNB.

This is shocking, they were very quick to take my money, but in no rush to give it back when they take it in error.

I wonder if they're hoping I will get tired of fighting for my money and just leave it??? Sadly for them, I will not ignore R700 of my money being taken without reason...... Give me back my money please FNB!!!

I am yet to hear anything from anyone!!! This should not be hard to investigate, taking that money from me was not legal because you were not providing me with a service yet took the money from my account. You can investigate how it happened and why in your time but right now you have my money and I am asking nicely for it back. I am not going to tolerate you witholding the return of my money any longer, I would like it back before the end of this week (23rd Dec 2016). I am not comfortable doing business with a company if they do not value my custom enough to sort out my issues in a timely fashion, please sort this out before the end of the week!!
