fnb connect sim cards utter ****

i bank with fnb and i am disgusted by how i have been *******...i actually feel ******, i wish to discontinue my business with you and i plan to slander your company on social media to the fullest and tell everyone i know, how underhanded you are if you dont refund me in full...i was phoned by a consultant offering me a good deal on a sim card..i am happy with my contract and have wifi at home so i i had no need for an additional sim..my girlfriend however struggles to afford data. She works very hard nine to five and i thought i would help her out by organising her this sim card. I was offered several options with amazing rates on data. i chose 2gigs monthly for R95. and got the same deal for her younger sister. My girlfriend was previously on mtn and was paying R160 for 1 gig which only just lasted her the month. With this new sim the 2 gigs ran out within the first 10days of the month. She has done less on her phone than she usually does and you gona tell me its used more than double the amount of data in a third of the time. Thats my first issue. My second issue is that when i initially set everything up telephonically, i was told the date that the debit order would go off as well as the date that the sim would be functional from..that day came and nothing happened..the sim did not work..i had to go into the bank and start again. i was told there are no hidden costs and just R95 was going to be debited from my account. I then found out on the phone the next day that there was a connection fee of R10. Turns out the first month was a double debit and it was actually a R50 connection fee. so instead of R190 (R95 X 2) being debited it was R480, I already felt taken advantage of and was shocked that such a 'reputable bank' had misled me so much but still I brushed it off.

On the day of the debit order i phoned the number i was told to phone and i spoke to a consultant to set everything up. I told the consultant that it if we port the number, it is vital that it functions properly from the time it is ported and if someone phones her old number it must go through as usual, because she gets calls from clients at work etc and cant change her number. The consultant assured me it would. I then received a series of sms 's, one of which told me specifically to use all the airtime on the old sim because it would be lost. 5 min later i received an sms saying that i must call this number from the old sim to activate the port. when i dialled the number the obvious voice came on telling me that i have insufficient airtime to make a call. Now thats brilliantly thought through isnt it?? i went and bought airtime to make that call and shortly after that i received an sms to say that the sim has been ported successfully. I put the new fnb simcard in her phone and all seemed in order, thinking that i have gone to a lot of trouble and been messed around and **** to but atleast my girlfriend was now going to be able spoilt.

This was a friday afternoon and she only noticed on the tuesday at work that her number was going to voicemail and had missed vital calls as she had done most communication over the landline prior to that so did not notice that her phone was not receiving calls as whatsapp etc was functioning normally.

In summary your "data prices" are great but the rate at which the data gets consumed is a joke.

Well done for pulling the wool over my eyes with this cleverly devised ****.

You have wasted a lot of my time and ****** from a girl who works very hard for the little she has. The issue has not at all been sorted out and her phone number situation is a big mess thanks to your incompetence. You call people with your "promotions" for your personal gain but they just end up just getting messed around. And yes neither of us earn a hell of a lot of money and no it wouldnt affect your business if i closed my bank account because i do not earn a lot and theres never a lot of money in it but thats exactly why i am reacting like this because you don't care that you are *****ing from the poor people with your greed
