FNB Connect Samsung watch warranty swop/repair denial
I bought a Samsung Galaxy watch from FNB Connect. It is still under warranty. I went for a swim and the watch began rebooting. I noticed the cover on the back over the body sensors had come loose. Watch then died. So the sequence to me is clear, there was a problem with the sensor cover. At that point the watch was broken in my eyes. It then got water damage due to the fact that the watch was already broken. So how can my warranty claim be denied due to water damage? It first broke then got water damage due to this. This service is absolutely pathetic. I will be moving away from my years-long relationship with FNB, and will never buy another Samsung product. Cheers FNB!!

It's not like the back cover came loose and I was too lazy to do anything about it and then it got water damage. And how is it that a water resistant product's warranty doesn't cover water damage?

12 Apr 2021, 16:38I will be posting here whether I receive any resolution. However, I STRONGLY urge anyone to think carefully before using FNB Connect for a purchase, as your warranty on your product might be worthless.

15 Apr 2021, 15:46I just received notification that in this specific case, based on the facts, the watch will be repaired under warranty. I think this is a fair decision in this case. I will remove this post once the watch has been received.

How can you not do a Quality Check on a repaired watch, and send it broken to the client? Now I have to wait weeks again for this to be fixed, and hope I get a working watch this time. Overall I was happy when repair was eventually authorized, but bottom line is that service is still extremely poor. Waiting for watch to be picked up again. Will provide feedback here as it happens.
