FNB Connect nightmare

I have always had nothing but great things to say about FNB and how innovative they are. However, FNB Connect, what a nightmare.

I went onto FNB's website 1/01/2017 to apply for 2 unlimited FNB Connect call packages. Due to the public holiday on the 1st and 2nd, I expected there to be some sort of delay. To my surprise I received a response on the 3rd at 09:02 advising me that my order had been received by Digital Planet, and that they awaited my address in order to deliver. I immediately clicked on the link to add my address and received an sms confirmation at 17:33 that my order will be delivered on or before the 9th between 9am and 5pm. The process of following up on the progress of your delivery is virtually impossible, and no one is able to assist. Patiently waiting, I get an sms on the 9th advising me that the sim cards are with the courier and will be delivered to me between 9am and 5pm. At 4:30 still no one had contacted me and I called FNB connect, who were no help at all. I then requested the couriers number and called them. Only to be told that the courier has been handed the package and has 48 hours to deliver, which was not what my sms said. I then asked to be put through to the Cape Town branch, only to be cut off and could not call back, as it was 5pm and the lines are switched off automatically. The courier eventually pictched up after 5:30, with no confirmation made with myself, therefore had waited all day at home, and not been able to work.

Then the frustration really started. Received sim after 5:30. Quite excited, put in my phone to activate, only to say "no service". I then called in and the voice prompt advised being aware of technical issues been experienced with telephone, data, airtime, etc. This the went on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In the meantime I have had to top up on airtime on my previous numbers as I also requested the numbers to be ported. Friday eventually FNB shows up as the service provide and I activate one sim. Only to try and make a call then to be told I need to top on airtime. I then call in and then informed that there are 2 prepaid sims and 2 unlimited sims on my profile, and the sims I received were in fact the prepaid sims, not the unlimited sims. And also no port of my current number is on the system. She then advised me that the 2 unlimited sims (that were not received) will be cancelled and that the two prepaid sims will be converted to the unlimited packages and once that's done, the number port will be actioned too.

Today I call in again to follow up, only to be told that there is no record of the previous days communication and that I would have to go into a branch, request the unlimited sims I did not receive to be cancelled, and have to request a sims swop on the prepaid sims. I have to now be inconvenienced again by having to go into a branch, sit in a queue to try and get this matter resolved.

This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had. Also considering I had spent quite a bit of money to buy myself out of my contract in order to take up the FNB Connect unlimited package. This is by far becoming the biggest mistake I've ever made.

FNB DISconnect
