FNB Connect made me feel like a ******** - I'll rather support another company then!

FNB Connect related complaint - -

I have had devices with FNB since 2014/2015 Never missed a debit or had any issues with FNB in regards to a device (other than a laptop giving me an issue, which I then sorted out, out of my own pocket)

So now that my last device (a Laptop, phone and tablet) are paid off (one still has a final payment due end December), we decided to get a new TV for home, as we haven't upgraded in 7 years.

I do the application online and I'm INSTANTLY hit with an error page, with ABSOLUTELY NO REASON as to the error on it. I'm also told on this error that I'll be called to resolve the issues - NEVER RECEIVED A CALL.

So then today I phone to check out what the issue is, JUST TO BE TOLD by one guy that it's possibly due to an FNB error where it's picking up two account and giving me an error there (which made no sense at all - he MUST be new...) AND ALSO TOLD by another guy that it's because FNB are now hand in hand with SARS and WANT TO CHECK IF I'M EVADING TAX (his words - the tax evasion bit!)

I then laugh, all shocked and offended by the comment and comment on the evasiveness of the question - - my employer deducts a lot of money from me EVERY MONTH and pays it over to SARS (our IRP5's were just done!) and I state that I have NEVER done this before through FNB. He says it has been done like this via FNB CONNECT since 2016 - - BULL...I have NEVER been so ridiculed and basically told 'we suspect you might be evading tax' and basically be informed that FNB is now hand in hand with SARS to invade privacy.

I then proceed to ask him to send me the form to read through - - No form received. I then also ask 3 people that I HAVE PERSONALLY SENT FNB's way to get devices within the last 6 months, if they have gone though the same treatment I am currently going through and was told 'NO! it was an easy online application and the device pitched a couple of days later!'

I have had atleast 5/6 device through FNB Connect since its inception with NO invasive issues,or requests like this - - My colleagues and family have been getting device from FNB the last while (3 atleast within the last 3 months) with NO invasive questions or 'borderline defamatory suggestions' (NOTE -they didn't say it out right, but that is how I feel about it)

SO WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AT FNB in regards to getting a device on 'contract/credit' - AND WHY does it seem that I get told different things from different people???

If you don't want my business and are making me feel, based on the treatment and line of comments AND based on the current non invasive questions and treatment others around me dealing with your CONNECT department, then I'll take my business to ABSA - - FNB, you made me feel like a ******** today! And still, no one can give me a definitive answer on why I am getting errors on my application or why I'm possibly being denied my application - - None of my circumstances or financials have changed since my last SUCCESSFUL applications...

I'd like someone to get to the bottom of this and If it continues like this,I'll just rather deal with another company who won't treat me feel like a ******** by saying ' We just want to see if our clients aren't evading paying tax' (part of the convo I had with the last rep)

Well done FNB!
