FNB Connect is by far the worst mobile network in SA

Anyone considering taking up a FNB Connect SIM, I strongly advise you to reconsider. Here is a very brief synopsis of what has been my first, and what will also certainly be my last 3 weeks of using this totally inferior mobile network service provider.

Signing up:
- Due to a system error my branch issued SIM could only be activated 7 days after collection.
- After another 5 days of weaving through frustratingly inconsistent "assistance" from the FNB Connect call centre, I was finally able to activate the Unlimited Calls packige which I had gone through all this trouble to sigh up for.

Number porting:
- Due to another system error my number is, instead of being ported, cancelled prompting yet another call to the call centre. At this point a pro-active notification would have been welcomed, but none was received.

Coverage:
Over the last few weeks I have experienced numerous missed calls where callers are directed straight to my voicemail, without my knowledge (I received no missed call or voicemail notifications)
Out of the calls I am able to make, 30% - 50% are dropped. Its important to add that this happens around Sandton, Midrand and Centurion, all areas which according to the network provider's coverage map is supposed to have full LTE coverage.

I have been unable to use my DSTV BOXOFFICE account due to the poor coverage in my area...this despite 3 bars of 3G coverage...

FNB Connect , while your pricing is compellingly low when compared to other network providers, I am afraid this is once again proof that you get what you pay for.

P.S. Since posting this I have once again been a victim to their disappointing service, having to bear all of the above service failures while I wait to be ported to another provider. Why wait, because number ports unfortunately are only done once a month, sir.

Spare yourself the pain, dont even consider this a Mobile Network option!!
